Эпизод Гражданской войны [Civil War]. 16 апреля 1862 флотилия северян из 30 пароходов и 21 канонерки под командованием коммодора Фэррагата [Farragut, David Glasgow] подошла к Новому Орлеану и в течение нескольких дней вела обстрел фортов Джексон [Fort Jackson] и Мэри [Fort Mary].
